Promotion of the recycling of industrial waste and building rubble for the construction industry

A second workshop on Industrial waste - a source of material for construction was held on the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The workshop was aimed at those branches of industry which produce industrial waste such as slag, fly ash, foundry sand, plaster, and sludge from wastewater treatment plants, and at companies from the construction sector which could potentially make use of such waste in the construction industry. There was 50 participants from industry, as well as representatives from the universities.

 
Last week the first out of two workshops on Industrial waste - a source of material for construction was held on Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.
The workshop was aimed at those branches of industry which produce industrial waste such as slag, fly ash, foundry sand, plaster, and sludge from wastewater treatment plants, and at companies from the construction sector which could potentially make use of such waste in the construction industry. There were 40 participants from industry, as well as representatives from the Slovenian Agency for the Environment.

 
On 26.11.2013 a fourth workshop with the topic Proper management of construction waste-burden, responsibility and opportunity was organized by ReBirth partners. Workshop was held on Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. There were 40 representatives of investors, project developers, communal companies and others who are interested in practical implementation of legislation on construction waste with technical possibilities for reuse of materials.

 
On 25. 9. 2013 was organized third workshop with the topic Proper management of construction waste-burden, responsibility and opportunity.

 
On the 11.6.2013 was organized second workshop with the topic Proper management of construction waste-burden, responsibility and opportunity. Workshop was organized as part of the project ReBirth. There were participating 40 representatives of investors, project developers, communal companies and others who are interested in practical implementation of legislation on construction waste with technical possibilities for reuse of materials.

 
On 20.3.2013 was carried out workshop at Slovenian Chamber of Commerce with the topic Proper management of industrial waste: burden, responsibility and opportunity. Waste material such as concrete, bricks, metal, plaster boards, isolating materials and wood, gathered during construction, maintenance and demolition of buildings, present important stream of waste. Many of these waste materials end on illegal dumping sites where they burden nature, soil, water and human health. With the right approach, preparation for and selective demolition we can gather selected industrial waste that can be reused or processed.

 
On Wednesday, 17.10.2012 Slovenian Chamber of Commerce hosted workshop on Greening of public procurement- industry and construction waste in public procurement. Participants were presented with best practice cases where experiences were shown on how to incorporate fundamental and additional environmental measures in public procurement of construction and reconstruction of roads.

 
On Wednesday, 29.8.2012, Slovenian National Building and Civil Institute (ZAG) hosted international Workshop on Energy Efficiency and sustainable construction. Project ReBirth presented its outcomes on the workshop.

 

Workshop on Green Public Procurement


20.06.2012 - Ljubljana
Project ReBirth and Slovenian Chamber of Commerce organized on 20. 6. 2012 workshop on Green Public Procurement. During the workshop, participants gathered information on national Decree for Green Public Procurement, especially content focused on building construction and inclusion of environmental requirements in the field of procurements of construction and reconstruction of roads and road infrastructure.
